Who we are?
CNI SBSS is the development and justice wing of the Church of North India. In response to the spirit and service of Christ, to fulfill the mission agenda of the Church, CNI SBSS is involved in building communities of resistance and hope, a response to social realities in the face neo-liberal globalization that excludes poor and marginalized further.

What do we do?
CNI SBSS responses to the structured poverty and works towards liberation of poor from oppressed social structures in a neo liberal economic era.

It works toward building communities of resistance and hope, working with marginalized communities to build peoples’ organization and movement to ensue their participation in decision making and democratization of institutions.

Issues...
SBSS addresses issues of livelihood, food security/sovereignty, land, tribal identity and dalit concerns, social equity with rights based approach. It involves enabling the poor to analyze political situation, acquire political positions and exercise political rights.

Advocacy with lobbying (with individuals and institution who influences policy making) and networking with like minded organizations and individuals is key strategy. In its all programs and activities, gender justice is a cross cutting theme. To its core and central, church mission engagement involving congregation in solidarity with poor as a energizing and core force.

Resources...
CNI SBSS is resource sharing and development support agency and works through the CNI Resource centers for Social Actions based at Agra, Pune, Barrackpore and Ranchi. They provide technical and program support including perspectives vision building to the DBSS its implementing partners. DBSS are involved in community building on issues of people’s concern and enabling to develop people’s organization. It is working towards enhancing the capacity of people’s movement as an alternative political force.

Working towards a whole new world...
CNI SBSS aims to influences policy formulation and implementation process to be pro-poor. These campaigns for policy and public advocacy are based on research and studies and experiences gained at grass roots.

While being involved in policy, campaign and research, SBSS provides a space for individuals and institutions, social entrepreneurs and activist innovating new ideas and action. Where there is justice in land, field and forest and every living being will dance and sing.

The CNI RCSA are involved in developing contextual theology on identified themes and issues, developing new mission understanding, new mission praxis and new mission practices. It provides support to the DBSS to strengthen Congregations to be in solidarity with poor and extending Kingdom Values.
