Engaging with Knowledge and Action

Located strategically in four different zones across North India, the CNI-Resource Centre for Social Action is involved in developing theological basis and active congregational involvement to ensure just society. Being involved with communities for more than two decades, these resource centres are in the verge of moving from community based advocacy to policy and media based advocacy. This is also a place where problems afflicting the society are observed and diagnosed to analyze the dimensions and trends of the issues for effective intervention. On day to day basis resource centres facilitate, monitor, train grass root communities and coordinate programme and activities at the diocesan level through Diocesan Board of Social Services-their partners.

Potentialities and possibilities
Resource centres would be the hub of information on issues like Livelihood and Food Security, Tribal Identity and Indigenous Rights, Land Rights and Dalit Studies. With their capacity to combine these issues with gender, Church Mission Engagement and Lobbying, Advocacy and Networking, resource centres will transform into place where praxis of the mission would betaken forward.

The resource centres are already active in research, building regional level forums for people's organisation and people's movement. These initiatives in near future are expected to increase their skills and capacity so that they could provide training capacitate grassroots level stakeholders on specific issues, mobilise resources, and perspective to became independent units of the Church
